Since coming to the Rice House
Kay A. has lost more than 165 pounds,
and her blood pressure has
dropped from 140/80 to 114/58.

Kay A. joined the Rice Diet Program in August 2004 weighing 388.1 pounds. When she first arrived, she needed a wheelchair to help her move around and doctors had told her she’d be in one for the rest of her life.

Since then, Kay has lost more than 165 pounds in 15 months. Her blood pressure has dropped from 140/80 to 114/58. She has achieved an optimal blood pressure, which has dramatically reduced her risk of a heart attack and stroke. She significantly improved her blood sugar from 159 to 99 in four months time, heading off diabetes and common complications, such as kidney disease, circulation problems (infections, blindness, amputated limbs), heart disease and strokes.

Now you can find Kay walking (and running!) around chasing a new grandchild and couldn’t be happier. She credits the Rice Diet for saving her life. Kay says, "one can lose weight on any program, but until your ‘head’ is changed, most people gain the weight right back. For me, after trying other programs without much success, I came here. This program places emphasis on a healthy lifestyle and finally I ‘get it.’ My life has really been changed."
