Napa Slaw with Honey Mustard Sauce
This quick and easy side dish is a spring time hit from
the Rice House kitchen. Make it ahead of time for pot
luck parties, grilling outdoors, or a picnic in the park.
Ingredients:
Slaw
- 6 cups napa cabbage, sliced very thin
- 1 cup carrots, grated
- 1/2 cup daikon radish, grated
- 1/2 cup raisins
Honey Mustard Sauce
This recipe is done proportionately, rather than
specific amounts, so that you can make larger or
smaller batches.
- 4 Tbsp stoneground mustard, no salt added
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, no salt added
- 1/2 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 Tbsp dill (dried or fresh), more or less if you
prefer
- water dilute mixture to desired consistency
Preparation:
Core the napa cabbage and discard any brown or
limp leaves. Slice thinly. Grate the carrots and daikon
using a small hole grater. Mix with the cabbage and
add raisins. Whisk all ingredients (except for water) of
the honey mustard sauce together. When well
blended, whisk in water until desired consistency.
Toss with the napa slaw until mixed and add pepper
to taste.
