
Italian Green Beans

cup onion, diced |

teaspoon extra virgin olive oil |

cup tomato puree - no salt added |

cups green beans, fresh |

cup balsamic vinegar |

teaspoon black pepper |

teaspoon oregano |

teaspoon basil |

teaspoon honey |
Sauté garlic and onions in oil until lightly browned. Add water and tomato puree, cover and cook for about 2 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover and cook for 3-5 more minutes, stirring often.
NOTES: If you like your green beans soft, add a little more water and continue to cook to desired tenderness. Or steam green beans for 3-5 minutes before adding to other ingredients. You can serve this warm or chilled.
